Doddacharpuram Temple Renovation

The village of Kaliappettai, otherwise known as Doddacharpuram, is on the western side of the River Palar and at a distance of 8 KMs from Chengalpattu town. The village has a Vishnu temple whose presiding deity is the moola vigraham of Sri Lakshmi Narayana (moolavar only). The temple also houses Sri Venugopala Swamy with His consorts Rukmani and Sathyabhama, Senkamala Thayar, Sri Karvanathullan with His consorts, Sri Chakrathazhwar, Nammazhwar, Thirumangai Azhwar, Swamy Emperumanar and Sri Manavala Mamunigal whose idols were installed in the temple in various periods. The history of the village dates back to nearly five hundred years and the temple had all along been witnessing daily thrikala poojas, thirumanjanams and grand annual festivals for the deities as per the agama shastras. This temple is currently in a very dilapidated condition and needs support from all Bhagavathas for speedy restoration to its old glory.

VEDICS Foundation is proud to announce, as a part of Śrī Rāmānuja Sambandham Program, the commencement of Bhagavad Viṣaya Kālakṣepam by Velukkudi Sri.U.Ve.Krishnan Swami. We were all blessed to learn Śrī Rāmānuja’s Vedārtha Saṅgraham from Sri. Krishnan Swami. Having learnt Samskṛta Vedāntam, it is time for us to learn Drāvida (tamizh)Vedāntam. Sri.Krishnan Swami's kālakshepams would be primarily based on The Eedu, embroidered with the unique facets of other vyakyanams as well. Swami will deliver 10 Kalakshepams every month beginning on 10th February 2012. Following kālakshepam tradition, discourses would begin with Tirupallāndu followed by Kanninun Siruttāmbu and finally delve deep in Tiruvāimozhi.

Tirumazhiśai āzhvār says “Those who do not learn the meaning of the divine sayings of The Mystic Kṛṣṇa, would not have spiritual knowledge.” As it is the essence of all the upaniṣads, it is imperative for all of us to study Bhagavad Gītā. Considering the depth of the subject dealt in Gītā and the fact that it should be put to practice in daily life, it is all the more essential that we are guided by a great ācārya in such a study. மொழியைக்கடக்கும் பெரும்புகழான்* வஞ்சமுக்குறும்பாம்
குழியைக்கடக்கும் நம் கூரத்தாழ்வான் சரண்கூடியபின்*
பழியைக்கடத்து மிராமாநுசன் புகழ்பாடி அல்லா
வழியைக்கடத்தல்* எனக்கினி யாதும் வருத்தமன்றே

Pramāṇa or means of knowledge

The pramātā, knower or a person desirous of knowledge, has to get knowledge of things to be known, prameya, only through the means of knowledge called pramāṇa. The existence of knowable objects is determined by the means of knowledge, called pramāṇa.

" உடலை நோக்கினால் வேறுபாடு தெரியும். ஆத்மாவின் தன்மையை உணர்ந்து அனைவரும் ஸமம் என்று த்யானிப்போம். "
